Recently, LabAid Cancer Hospital and Super Specialty Center launched a digital 3D mammogram (Breast Tomosynthesis) for the very first time in Bangladesh. A special conference was arranged to announce this newly launched treatment facility. They also officially launched their app during the ceremony.

Sakif Shamim, managing director of Labaid Cancer Hospital, was present there as the chief guest.

He said, "Through this app, patients will be able to access health services more easily and affordably. We are constantly trying to simplify the long-term and expensive process of cancer treatment. We are planning to open 30 cancer centers across the country for this purpose."  He also urged the pharmaceutical companies to make the price of cancer drugs affordable to the patients.

Breast Surgeon Dr. Ali Nafisa discussed in detail the need for 3D mammograms and the difference between 2D and 3D mammograms. She mentioned that women should do regular breast screening every two years after the age of 35. "The amount of radiation used during a 3D mammogram is very small, only about 1 in 10 of the radiation in a normal chest X-ray," she also added. So there is nothing to fear about this test."

Anupam Halder, head of the IT department of the hospital, discussed in detail the important features of the app.

Saleha Ahmed (Chairman, LabAid Group), Sucharita Ahmed (Director, LabAid Group), Mastura Farzana Mohona (Associate Director, LabAid Cancer Hospital and Super Specialty Center), specialist doctors, high officials of the hospital, and journalists were also present at the conference.

LabAid Cancer Hospital has been working relentlessly to provide effective treatment to cancer patients through modern and advanced technology. We all should come forward in this great initiative to make cancer treatment accessible to the people.
